      About this collection

Find Your Perfect Night's Sleep with Our Women's Nightgowns Collection

Some nights, even your favorite pajamas feel like too much. A nightgown gives you room to move, no waistband to think about, and one less decision before bed. Our women's nightgowns range from breezy tanks and short nighties to longer, more covered styles. What matters most isn't just the shape, though. It's how the fabric feels when you settle in, especially if you tend to wake up warm.

Nightgowns have long been a sleepwear staple, offering comfort, elegance, and versatility for restful nights. But as temperatures rise and sleep quality becomes more important, modern nightgowns are evolving, thanks to innovations like cooling and moisture-wicking sleepwear technology.

This collection brings together three fabrics: our engineered, moisture-wicking NightCool nightgowns (formerly our Classics line), our soft, breathable BambooSoft nightgowns in silky viscose from bamboo, and our soft everyday DayBasics. Whether you run hot at night or simply love the feel of something light and luxurious against your skin, there's a nightgown here for you.

      NightCool: Engineered Moisture-Wicking Performance

Our NightCool nightgowns are made with our signature proprietary fabric, engineered to wick moisture and heat away from your skin and dry fast. If you experience night sweats, hot flashes, or overheating during sleep, NightCool is built to help regulate your body temperature and keep you dry and comfortable all night long. This is our original cooling innovation, the moisture-wicking sleepwear trusted by hot sleepers for years.

Best for: night sweats, hot flashes, menopause, and anyone who sleeps hot and wants engineered temperature regulation.

      BambooSoft: Silky, Breathable, Everyday Softness

Our BambooSoft nightgowns are made from viscose from bamboo, prized for a buttery-soft, silky hand-feel, a gorgeous fluid drape, and light, airy breathability. They feel wonderfully gentle against the skin and are lovely for warm nights, slow mornings, and everyday lounging when you want to feel wrapped in something soft and luxurious. BambooSoft is all about natural comfort and effortless softness.

Best for: soft, breathable everyday comfort, warm-weather wear, sensitive skin, and anyone who loves a silky, lightweight feel.

DayBasics: Soft Everyday Comfort (Not Cooling)

Our DayBasics nightgowns are for women who love our fits but do not run hot at night. They are soft, breathable, and made for easy everyday comfort. DayBasics is not cooling in any way: if night sweats or hot flashes are why you are here, choose NightCool instead.

Best for: everyday softness, layering, and women who do not need cooling.

Which Nightgown Is Right for You?

We'll always be honest about what each fabric does best. If your main goal is managing night sweats and staying dry through hot, sweaty nights, reach for engineered, moisture-wicking NightCool. If you simply want the softest, most breathable everyday comfort, you'll love BambooSoft. Many women keep both: NightCool for the hottest nights, BambooSoft for soft, easy comfort in between.

      What Makes a Nightgown Comfortable?

      1 sections

Nightgowns are loose-fitting sleepwear garments typically designed for women. They can range from short, breezy camisoles to ankle-length gowns. Nightgowns are popular for their comfort and easy fit, making them ideal for lounging or sleeping. While traditional materials include cotton and satin, today's designs increasingly feature moisture-wicking and breathable fabrics that help regulate body temperature and keep you comfortable.

      Cooling & Breathable Sleepwear Technology

Cooling nightgowns make a real difference for hot sleepers or those experiencing night sweats. Engineered fabrics like our moisture-wicking NightCool technology work by pulling heat and moisture away from the skin, helping you stay dry and comfortable throughout the night. Naturally breathable fabrics like our BambooSoft viscose from bamboo keep things light and airy against the skin, for soft, comfortable warm-weather sleep.

Find the Shape That Feels Right

Our nightgowns come in different styles:

      1. Camisole or Sleeveless Nightgowns: Lightweight and minimal, camisole nightgowns are ideal for warm climates or summer months. They offer maximum ventilation and often come in soft, stretchy materials for added comfort. Our short nightgowns and nighties are the lightest options.
      2. Long-Sleeved Nightgowns: Perfect for cooler nights, long-sleeved nightgowns offer more coverage and warmth while still being breathable. They're a great balance of comfort and modesty.
      3. Long Nightgowns: Long nightgowns, down to the shin, provide more coverage without overheating, especially in moisture-wicking or breathable fabrics. These are perfect for lounging or those who prefer more coverage without sacrificing comfort.
      4. Racerback Nightgowns: With a sporty silhouette and breathable arm design, racerback nightgowns allow greater movement and airflow. They're ideal for active sleepers who tend to move around at night. If you want built-in support, see our nightgown with shelf bra.
      5. Nightshirts and Sleep Shirts: Cut like a long, relaxed T-shirt with a scoop neck, V-neck or snap front, a nightshirt usually falls around the knee. Choose short or long sleeves; the snap front opens all the way down.

One Style Rarely Fits Every Night

Having a variety of nightgown styles makes sense when your bedroom temperature changes with the seasons. A sleeveless option feels easier in summer, while a long-sleeved gown offers coverage in a cool room. If you're still deciding between lengths and necklines, Types of Nightgowns: Which Style is Best for You breaks down the practical differences. Think about where the hem falls when you sit down, whether the neckline feels open enough, and how much fabric you like around your legs.

For nights shaped by menopause symptoms, menopause pajamas for night sweats can help you focus on moisture management rather than choosing by style alone. If you prefer to change just one layer, cooling pajamas offer a two-piece alternative to a gown. Otherwise, consider keeping one lighter nightgown and one with more coverage, then choosing based on the room rather than the season. You don't need a drawer full of options; you need the shapes you'll actually reach for.

Choosing a Nightgown You'll Actually Want to Sleep In

Before choosing a nightgown, think about what bothers you most at night: a waistband, sleeves that twist, or fabric that stays damp. Start with the shape you already feel comfortable in, then compare length and fabric. A relaxed fit should let you roll over without pulling at your shoulders or hips. If you're between sizes, check the measurements for the specific gown rather than assuming every style fits alike.

For frequent sweating, prioritize NightCool's moisture-wicking fabric; for everyday softness, BambooSoft may be enough. Consider whether you'll wear the gown only in bed or also while getting ready in the morning. A longer nightshirt offers more coverage, while a tank gown feels less restrictive in a warm bedroom. These are small differences, but they're often what determines whether a nightgown becomes your favorite.

      Questions

      Women's Nightgowns: Your Questions, Answered

Are all of your nightgowns cooling?

No. Only our NightCool nightgowns are cooling. They are made with our moisture-wicking NightCool fabric for women who sleep hot or wake up with night sweats. DayBasics nightgowns are not cooling in any way. They are soft, breathable everyday nightgowns for women who do not run hot at night. Our BambooSoft nightgown is silky viscose from bamboo, light and breathable, but it is not engineered for cooling.

What is the difference between a nightgown and a nightshirt?

A nightgown is a dress-style sleep garment, from cami and tank gowns to long gowns with sleeves. A nightshirt is cut like a longer, roomier shirt, usually with a scoop neck, V-neck or snap front. We make night shirts for women in both our cooling NightCool fabric and our everyday DayBasics line, in short and long lengths.

Do you make loose fitting nightgowns?

Yes. Most of our nightgowns are cut with a relaxed, airy drape, so the fabric skims instead of clinging. The Gathered Tank Nightgown, Long Tank Gown and our nightshirts are the roomiest fits, and many styles are available up to 3X.

Do you have nightgowns with a built-in bra?

Yes. Our sleepwear with built-in support collection has nightgowns and tops with a built-in shelf bra, so there is nothing extra to put on underneath, including the Long Racerback Tank Gown with Built-In Shelf Bra.

What are the different types of nightgowns?

Common types include cami and tank nightgowns, sleeveless and short-sleeve gowns, long nightgowns with sleeves, nighties and nightshirts. Our women's nightgown style guide walks through each style and when to choose it.

What should I look for in a nightgown if I sleep hot?

Look at breathability and construction first. A lightweight, breathable knit that moves moisture away from your skin will sleep cooler than a heavy, densely built fabric, no matter what it is made from. That is what our NightCool nightgowns are engineered for. If you only run warm now and then, a light, airy cut in any breathable fabric may be all you need.
