More about the Gathered Tank Nightgown

The Cool-jams NightCool Gathered Tank Nightgown is a sleeveless cooling nightgown made for night sweats and hot flashes. The softly gathered front skims rather than clings, and the wider tank straps sit comfortably without digging in. It is cut from Kottinu, our proprietary performance sleep fabric, which wicks perspiration off the skin as it forms and dries in minutes, and an odor-control finish helps the fabric stay fresher between washes. Sleeveless construction means less fabric against you on the warmest nights. In Black, Navy and Merlot, in sizes S to 3X.

Is a cooling nightgown better than pajamas for night sweats?

It comes down to preference. A nightgown has no waistband and less fabric overall, which many women who sleep hot prefer, while pajama sets give more coverage. Both are cut from the same Kottinu fabric here.

How wide are the straps?

They are wider than a standard cami strap and sit close to the shoulder, so they cover more than a spaghetti strap does.

What length is this nightgown?

It falls to around knee level on most wearers. If you want a longer cut, the NightCool Long Tank Gown is the same fabric in a longer length.

What is Kottinu?

Kottinu, a technical synthetic (engineered polyester microfiber) made for firefighter base layers and medical scrubs, now crafted for hot sleepers and night sweats needing moisture-wicking and cooling pajamas. Soft and smooth with a cotton-like feel, it pulls sweat off your skin, dries in minutes, carrying body heat away with it.

A Bact-Out finish helps the fabric resist odor, so it stays fresher between washes. Kottinu resists pilling, holds its shape, and machine washes easily.

How to care for Kottinu

Machine wash cold or warm with like colors, gentle cycle
Skip fabric softener and dryer sheets, they coat the microfibers and can reduce wicking
Tumble dry low or hang to dry, Kottinu dries fast
No bleach
Holds its shape and resists pilling wash after wash

The Classic is the only one worthwhile!
I love the Classic Cool Jams. I have worn them for decades. Feels like silk wears like iron.
I recently ordered the less-expensive newer offerings of the same item and the fabric was not anywhere as comfortable and the cut was just ever-so-smaller everywhere.
So happy these are back and I bought a few of them.

What a weird fit
Such odd fitting for this nightgown. Nice fabric but awful cut around the arms, like it is uncomfortable. Unfortunately I had already washed it or would have returned it, especially for the price.

Soft as silk, wears like iron
I’ve been wearing these gowns for 15 years. So comfortable and wears like iron. Keeps me comfy without ever feeling hot. Great for travel too because they take up no space.
