Care for Bedding Products:

Laundering: Machine wash warm or cold, gentle cycle. Use a mild laundry detergent, and avoid liquid chlorine bleach (LCB), fabric softener, dryer sheets, and washer or dryer balls since these products will diminish the wicking ability of the fabric. If you use chlorine-free bleach, be careful to not pour it directly onto your bedding. You must pre-dilute it before adding to wash. Tumble Dry on low or medium heat and remove promptly from dryer to prevent excessive wrinkling. 

Stains: for body or facial oils, you can pre-wash or soak the sheets with ¼ cup of Dawn dishwashing liquid, as Dawn is a natural degreaser, then launder as usual.  As soon as you see an oil stain, pre-treat so that the stain is not ‘set’ in the dryer.  For all other stains, you can Spray Oxy Clean, use bleach, or Grandma’s Miracle Spot Remover directly onto the stain, then launder as usual.   Or a mix of 1-part white vinegar to 4-parts water, spray or pour directly onto the stain, then launder as usual.

Bamboo Products:  Wash the bamboo bedding before using to allow for the shrinkage that happens during the first washing of bamboo. We’ve over-sized the linens to allow for that shrinkage, so if you don’t wash first; you’ll think they’re too big. Note: Bamboo comes out of the washer feeling stiff and canvas-like, that’s normal so don't worry that you've harmed your linens.

What should I keep in mind to optimize the effectiveness of any Cool-jams bedding products?
Our temperature regulating sheets and bedding work best when the room temperature is between 65°F and 68°F. The Better Sleep Council recommends setting your room temperature in this range, and we have developed our products to work best in this range as well.

None of our bedding products can substitute for an air conditioner but aid in temperature-balancing. In this sense, we like to describe our products as products that help keep you thermally neutral while sleeping to provide a more comfortable night's sleep.

Can Cool-jams bedding products help hot flashes and night sweats?
It's no secret: Women who experience hot flashes have a tough time sleeping. All of our moisture wicking and temperature regulating bedding can help buffer those temperature swings by keeping the body cool and dry and absorbing excess heat to help you get a better night's sleep.
